Acting with God

Imagine this:

“Subtle qualities of divine love essential to the well-being of this planet are released through our actions and flow out into the world as miracle, healing, and hope.”

These words by Cynthia Bourgeault, mystic, Episcopal priest, and teacher startled me. They articulated something I had wanted to be true, longed to be true, felt deeply was true for decades. We do act with God. We are invited to participate with God. God does take the small things we offer and multiply their effects, bringing to this world the Kingdom.

Every prayer creates a good. Every good act creates a good. Every longing for justice, for righteousness, for peace, for comfort, in God’s economy, creates good.

We must get acting, yes?!

Reflection

Jesus took a small boy’s offering and fed thousands with it. What does God do with our offerings of prayer and acts of kindness? What does God do with our cries for what’s right and just? Imagine!

Prayer

Dear God, through Your mercy and love, we are far more powerful than we know! May we take up our beads, return to our prayers, offer our tears, and turn away from no act thinking it too small to be of any good. Through You, we participate in “miracle, healing, and hope.”
