You may have prayed long and hard, without response. You may have felt a deep, wrenching disappointment as your young eyes searched for the God someone told you would come.

God will use whatever is at hand in our lives to reach deep inside and ignite our power.

Without proper help, we are walking NEED.

When we suffer, God pairs himself with the attempts of our minds to make sense of what it happening to us.

I wanted God to pounce, to attack! I wanted God to be loud so my perpetrators would cower in fear.

This isn’t reflective of the Christ I know. The Christ I know is much harder to follow in fact. He demands more. And He’s actually a lot more fun.

He wants each of us to defy the powers that keep us down, wounded, silent, afraid.

Bottom line: Jesus welcomes. Jesus leads. Jesus empowers.

What sits between you and God?

It is as if I’ve stumbled into a place that causes every part of me to light up.
